The site of the original Olympic Games attracts tourists from all over the world to this day. Not only will you see the ancient stadium, where the track and field competitions that defined the original games were held, but a whole vast complex of buildings intended to both support the athletes and honor the gods. In fact, the torch used to signal the start of our modern Olympic Games every two years (summer and winter) is still first lit at the Temple of Hera, within this ancient complex.
